More Family Pics

Here are some more pictures with family...

Reister and Sadie playing (no fighting this time!) :)

I like this one because you can see both of their faces but it looks like they're dancing!

Reister loved all his cousins - Here he is with Katie, Sadie's older sister

Swimming fun with Sadie outside Nana & Grandaddy's house

On the Way

This post is out of order, but I still wanted to post a couple pictures from before we left and from the long trip over to the states...

Playing with Daddy...

Reister - 10 months old

Here is Reister in the third airport out of six that we went through on the way to the states in August. This little girl played with Reister for quite a while - we were in the check in line and it was taking FOREVER. Her name was Mia and she was precious. Who knew a used luggage tag could provide such entertainment for both of them!?

This indoor playground was in the Tokyo-Narita airport. Reister loved it even though he wasn't quite big enough to really play on it. Micah and I took turns playing with him and taking advantage of the $5 shower also offered in the airport. It was a really nice private bathroom with shampoo, soap, towel, and a great shower spout with hot water. It was just what we needed after more than 20 hours of traveling. We just had one leg left at this point, but it was our longest one - from Tokyo to DFW - I think it was about 12-13 hours... then we got off and met Micah's family!

Farm Time!

While in Texas, we got to spend time at a different barn - one still in use! Here is a picture with granddaddy (Micah's dad) with one of the calves at his milk farm in Como.

Micah also got to go shoot skeet with his dad, brother-in-law, nephew and a longtime hometown friend, Kevin.

Don't you love the field with the hay bails!? East Texas is so pretty!

He also got to see two high school friends, Justin and Brandon, during our time in Como. Thanks guys for making the trip!

Barn Time!

While in Texas we got to spend several days in Austin with my family and of course we went to the barn! Here is a pic of the barn itself:

Isn't it cool!?

Here's my family!

Reister loved swimming in his "Texas" blow up baby pool!
Dad also found a way for adults to cool off by making a large water trough into a small pool. He and Sean did a great job of putting the rocks around it to make it nicer looking!

Great Grandparents!

We got to see my grandparents on both sides! That means Reister got to meet his great-grandparents and they got to meet him!

Here's me and Papa talking...

Mimi loving on Reister

Here's all of us - sorry the color is weird - I had to "autofix" because it was dark and it did weird stuff to our skin color

Here's Reister and Bama. He loves the stuffed dog she gave him

My mom and Bama feeding Reister his first pudding! He loved it!

The Fight

Reister got to meet his cousin Sadie who was born only 3 weeks before him. We adults probably enjoyed watching them play together more than they actually did (how much do one year olds really PLAY together?) - but they did get to play and Reister got to learn a little bit about what that means - sharing, etc. This scene took place the second night we were in Texas. Watch the progression of events...

Birthday with Cousin Sadie

Well, although we didn't announce it ahead of time, I'll go ahead and tell you all that we took a short trip back to the states. We left our city August 4th at 7:10am and arrived in DFW August 5th around 9:30am. All in all it took around 40 hours of traveling, 6 airports, 5 planes and lots of bottles and jarred baby food. Reister did surprisingly well and it was well worth it to see family and a couple friends while we were back. I am sorry to everyone that we didn't get to see! We were able to see my grandparents on my dad's side who are not doing so well. We also got to see both of our parents and all of our siblings and their families. I also got to see my other grandmother and step-grandfather. Much thanks to Mike & Sandra (Micah's parents) who provided the airline miles to make the trip! We left DFW on August 20th and then spent almost 2 weeks in Thailand. Here is a video of Reister and his cousin Sadie Grace as we celebrated both of their birthdays while back in Texas. I'll be making several more posts with other pics of our time away.

back home

We have been traveling for almost a month now and haven't had the time to blog. Hopefully in the next few days I'll get all my pictures sorted through and let you all see what we've been up to! Reister did turn one on September 1st! We were able to celebrate along the way. We got home today and it feels really good! We're looking forward to sleeping in our own beds. Until the next post! -Michelle
